Lawrence Lo Lo G Atkinson created Home Team Radio based off of the need to help support these artists and have a guaranteed place to have their music played. Even though the first few shows on Home Team Radio played music from known artists such as Limp Bizkit, Jadakiss and more, Home Team Radio still was intended to start giving artists a home to have their music played without having the hassle of trying to get on local radio stations across the country.
The name Home Team came from the ever popular program on Atlanta's Hot 107.9 CoCo Brother and The Home Team. Home Team Radio came into its niche when we were invited to be a part of the Independent Connect to help brand the Urban Shows on Blog Talk Radio. That did not last long as there were creative differences amongst the group. But after that Home Team Radio became partners with Cody (Jit Chronicles) Nixon and his station brand Grind Hard Radio which is a strong bond still to this day.
In 2011 Home Team Radio secured its second host in Kid B who helped bring in some of Home Team Radio's Highest Numbers. One Episode that was featured on Blog Talk Radio's front page in 2013 when she interviewed Jit Chronicles from Grind Hard Radio received over 400 people listening to the show live while she was on the air. Kid B left Home Team Radio in 2013 but made a brief return in 2015. Home Team Radio secured more hosts. The most notables DJ Dee Louis, CG Da Prince, Peter Larry Loud, and Mak Michigan. There are a few that will not be mentioned but were apart of helping build Home Team Radio to where we are now.
In Mid 2013 Lo Lo G stepped away from being a full time host on Home Team Radio due to receiving a job promotion with the company he was working for at the time but remains still behind the scenes. Also, in 2013 Home Team Radio became partners with Sean Garvey and his Beat Break Morning Show Brand which is heard here on Home Team Radio on Saturdays.
Late 2014 Home Team Radio welcomed Billy Bloco to Home Team Radio with his brand Channel Zero Live heard on Sunday Nights from 5pm to7pm ET.
In February 2016 before celebrating 6 years on Blog Talk Radio Home Team Radio hit over 600,000 listens which is a milestone just in itself.
Not sure where Home Team Radio is going but we definitely are reaching for the top to be a dominate force in helping artists have a home to have their music played.
